CTEI/TA Weekly News: China's huge population actually is a huge bonus for apparel market. Meanwhile, the growth incomes of urban and rural dweller contribute to the Chinese apparel sales growth. Over 300 international brands from more than 23 countries, including Italy, France and the United States are pushing for a greater presentation at CHIC 2010.
Hongkong, the largest country/area pavilion at the show, will return this year with a 60% increase in exhibition space. Hong Kong Trade Development Council will bring 60 exhibitors to the show including Paolo Da Ponte, D&G, Moschino, London Fog, Harry Porter, Moreline and Wolford who feature high quality apparel specialised for Asian and European markets. At present, China's high-end clothing market has been almost dominated by well-known international brands from France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United States, Britain; while Hong Kong brands mainly concentrated in the mid-end market.
The Korea Federation of Textile Industries (KOFOTI) is joining CHIC 2010 in the form of Korean pavilion named 'Preview in China 2010' after 7-years hosting of 'Preview in SHANGHAI. Over 100 Korea firms including SANG-A FASHION, HAN CHANG APPAREL, Le Queen, Yarnie, and Jolie & Deen will attend CHIC 2010. On March 29, Korean top designer Andr�� Kim will bring us an amazing dress show. Korean pop star Kim Hee Sun will be invited as models in fashion show.
