Abstract: Arc protective clothing is a type of personal protective equipment (PPE) specifically designed to protect workers from the hazards of electric arc flash and associated heat. Severe burns or death in humans can be the outcome of arc accidents within the power and electrical industries. Therefore, the proper design and use of arc protective clothing is critical. The article introduces the material selection, structural design, and performance requirements during the design and development of arc protective clothing, aiming to provide a reference for relevant processes. In doing so, supply workers in the sector with arc protective clothing that ensures their safety and comfort, shielding them from elevated temperatures, flames, and burns in the event of an arc accident.
